What happens during Remedial Massage Treatments?

After a thorough history and examination, practitioners assess where you need treatment and what may be causing your pain. They will perform some tests to see exactly which muscles are giving you trouble and will tailor an individualised plan.

Treatment itself may involve deep tissue work that may be gentle or strong; deep or light; depending on the tissues/ structures involved and the patient's comfort level.

Results vary depending on whether the condition is recent or long term. While a recent, acute condition can often be resolved in a few treatment sessions, long term or chronic conditions will often require a series of treatments. This will usually involve a number of weekly massages, gradually reducing in frequency until maintenance stage or the desired result is achieved.

The aim is to work with the client while they start to increase their activity levels back to normal once again, not only are you achieving benefits to mobility and decreased pain levels, but all round health improvement is also often seen in the form of better sleep, increased vitality and performance levels.
